Where to begin?

Before developing this version of floating boxes, we created a few test blogs with blogger. The first versions where based on the Blogger.com template "Awesome Inc." by Tina Chen tinachen.org. To be exact is is the greenish one we chose, because the blog design elements have rounded corners and have a shadow.

This time we'll try to use Blogger.com's "Simple" template and copy some of the CSS code from our Awesome Inc based test blogs. The main reason to use the white Simple Template by Josh Peterson www.noaesthetic.com is to simplify the overall CSS. Rather than having lot's of CSS code simply to overwrite existing parameters, we simply explicitly insert the ones we want.

The Blogger Template Designer is offering lot's of great options to change the chosen template and really adapt to your needs and wishes. But not all layout features can be configured, for example the level of transparency / opacity. Or to add, delete or change shadow effects of layout elements.

Therefore trying a number of templates is normal. Which is a bit frustrating, because you can't save your changes and you cannot migrate them to another template.

Floating Boxes - a fresh looking blogger template

This template has been produced as a prototype for a tickerTXT ticker wall projection. Because we have become Blogger specialists and ticker is technically not that different from a blog, we decided to create the design mockup with the help of the template designer. BTW nearly all of our development as well as project infrastructure is based on Googles' incredible range of products, from Google App engine, Google maps to Google Apps and of course Blogger.

And of course if the result is a nice deign, why not using it as a blogger template. So here we go.
